I practice Health & Wellness Coaching from a holistic perspective that sees each person as intrinsically healthy, whole, wise, and the ultimate expert in his or her healing journey. I believe coaching is about transformation and the ability to learn and grow and open our lens to new perspectives. If you are reading this, you have perhaps tried other “quick-fix” tools and are aware that real lifestyle or behavioral change requires courage, new levels of awareness, evidence, insight, and ongoing consistent support.
The core of my coaching is founded in mindful awareness. I gauge stage of change using the Transtheoretical Model of Change (TTM). I look at readiness to change, engaging in change talk and working towards ideas, solutions and action steps. I use brainstorming and other methods to open to new perspectives.
I discuss obstacles or barriers, look at triggers, self-talk, and thoughts/emotions to understand behaviors and assess and build confidence and self-efficacy. I utilize action steps, goal setting and accountability.
I instill motivation in my clients!
At the last coaching session, I ensure clients have a long-term plan, a “Plan B”, and available resources. I offer coaching for continued maintenance as needed. Most importantly, I support clients in engaging in self compassion, kindness, and self-love.
